The squid fly is an excellent choice for feeding predatory insects and reptiles. Once they hatch, these larvae are ideal for feeding a wide variety of species, providing a protein-rich diet and stimulating natural hunting behavior, thanks to their ability to fly.
✅ Versatility in feeding: If stored in the refrigerator, the larvae remain active for days or even weeks. If left at room temperature, they will complete their cycle until they become flies, perfect for species that require flying prey, as is the case with many mantises, or to stimulate hunting by other types of insectivorous animals.
✅ Recommended for medium and large mantises: For smaller mantises, it is recommended to opt for Drosophila , a more suitable option due to its size.
It is sent at room temperature so that the process of conversion into a fly begins. Depending on the ambient temperature, some larvae may arrive in the pupal stage. If not, they will pupate in 2 or 3 days, and about 10 days later, the flies will emerge ready to feed.
