HID lighting kit for desert reptiles

The HID lighting kit for desert reptiles is the standard version for arid-climate species that need high UVB and elevated temperatures. By day an HID unit does the work, emitting UVB and UVA radiation as well as heat and light; at night, a thermostat-regulated ceramic bulb keeps the warmth in without lighting up. You choose the wattage of each of the two bulbs.

How does the standard HID kit work by day and by night?

During the day, the standard kit's HID takes care of everything: vitamin D3 thanks to UVB, activity and breeding thanks to UVA, thermoregulation with its heat, and visible spectrum. When you turn the HID off at night, the temperature drops and the thermostat starts the ceramic, which warms without emitting light and lets the reptile rest with its natural cycle.

It is suitable for bearded dragons, tortoises, monitors, tegus and uromastyx; the list of species with scientific names is in the professional desert kit, which also adds a dimming thermostat with automatic day/night control and an extra ceramic lamp holder.
