High-output compact UVB 15.0 bulb for bearded dragons E27 26 W

The 26 W UVB 15.0 compact bulb, with a standard E27 lamp holder, is the compact with the highest ultraviolet index on the market. It is intended for reptiles that in nature endure strong direct sun for hours, with no plants to soften it: bearded dragon, uromastyx, sulcata tortoise, tegu and other species from extremely arid zones. It must be swapped at 6 months even if it is still glowing.

Which reptiles is the UVB 15.0 bulb designed for?

• Uromastyx (U. ornata, U. geyri, U. dispar): among the reptiles with the greatest UVB needs in captivity.
• Sulcata tortoise (Geochelone sulcata): it comes from the Sahel and requires maximum radiation.
• Tegu (Salvator merianae, Tupinambis sp.): active and diurnal.
• Monitor: in its habitat it receives intense sun exposure.
• Larger tortoises (Testudo marginata).
• Bearded dragon: in large vivariums or those with a mesh top.

UVB 10.0 or 15.0 for my bearded dragon?

The vivarium decides it more than the species does. For a small or medium vivarium, the UVB 10.0. For a large one or one with a mesh top, the UVB 15.0, because mesh can strip out up to 40% of the UVB reaching the animal. Where should the UVB 15.0 bulb be positioned?

Mount the UVB 15.0 bulb directly above the basking spot, 20–30 cm from it, and not in the middle of the vivarium: its UVB is only effective up to around 25–30 cm. Check that the reptile can sit at that distance during the day. If the vivarium is large or the species is very active and covers a lot of ground, add a T5 UVB tube to cover the whole area.
